Well, you didn't have a fat face with lots of jowls

My friends brother lost 90 kilos last year. Now he only weighs 120 kilos... He's now very happy and has a job and a girlfiend. Before he lost weight his doctor told him he'd die within a few years if he didn't do something drastic. I think he had a gastric bypass.
So again, my very best wishes

When I was a kid I was overweight but went on a thousand cal a day diet and lost 33 lbs in three weeks. When you get to the point that you aren't beating up on yourself life becomes alot better. Hang in there Dan, stay focused, you're doing great.

Though I prefer cycling , we all need to be conscious of of our sedentary/physically stationary activities and inject reasoned measures of (more) physical activity in our daily lives as is/can be practical.

                            Update

                            A brief update for all...

My recovery is progressing well. I had my last appointment with my surgeon at the beginning of this week and he confirmed my own optimistic outlook.

It has not caused me pain in, hmmm, I can't remember exactly how long and in another year or so the scar should be all but healed over.
