Your statement that terrorists, and not bush, are responsible for the iraq war is so laughable that this thread deserves to be trolled, spammed, firebombed, and urinated on.

You saw the Democrats wrestling with that issue tonight.

After Bush conned the Congress into authorizing the use of force by assuring Congress that he would let the inspectors finish their work, Bush precipitously sent our young men and women into harm's way. Congress was then face with a Hobson's Choice: Do they vote to cut off funding that our troops need to stay alive, or do they vote to fund a stupid and pointless war?

There's no right way to vote on that issue.

I am a U S Army Veteran, ETS of 5 February 1979, I had to face the threat of the mean communists of Russia, or so what we were led to believe.

I would go if I had the option if I felt it was a worthwhile cause, of which, we should stay clear of Iran

Or you could choose to join in an adult conversation rather than throwing a self-righteous temper tantrum.

again, the alternative -- cutting funding and forcing troops out in 2 months -- results in disaster in iraq. still bush started it, and maintained it. it's his war . if the democrats take over the presidency the war will almost certainly end quickly though.

Should we factor in a person who can veto anything the Congress does, so that they need 2/3 of each chamber to pass anything??

You're asking ME to provide a justification of the War in Iraq??

Okay, if I must. One of the justifications given is that Hussein used terror to keep him people in line. He used poison gas against Iranians, and against his own Kurds in the north and the Shia in the South. He gave money to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers, thereby encouraging more to blow up themselves up. Thus, he was an evil man & had to be removed.

This is not an irrational argument.

I don't agree with its logic (or lack thereof) but there it is.

right, but that's not what gp thinks

GWB did not start [the Iraq war], the war was brought to a head by our country being attacked by Terrorists.
grandpa troll seems to blame the iraq war not on middle eastern terrorism but on 9/11. which is absurd. LAUGHABLE EVEN.

Should we factor in the fact that they don't actually have to pass anything to not fund it?

they do if they don't want iraq to dissolve into complete chaos, instead of the simply significant chaos there is now. this chaos having been caused by george bush, who is not them.

this is remarkable i thought people here were bright and mature I AM MISTAKEN?
