    Pizza Shiva

    Pizza service Joeys served pizzas named "Brahma", "Shiva" and "Ganesha" etc. in Germany until protests by the Hindu community caused a change of policy, German news site Spiegel Online reports:

    Es ist nur ein kleiner Hinweis auf der Website des Pizza-Lieferanten "Joey's": "Liebe Kunden, wir haben die Namen unserer Aktionspizzen kurzfristig geändert." Hinter der Nachricht steckt ein peinlicher Fauxpas: Tagelang waren die Teigfladen nach indischen Gottheiten benannt.

    Apparently one of the things which attracted most criticism was that these pizzas weren't even vegetarian.

    However, Joeys formally apologized, and said it wasn't aware that this was such a hot issue. They changed the names to those of Indian cities like Calcutta, Bangalore etc....

    What do you think - are religious names generally taboo for this kind of stuff? What about a Jesus schnitzel?

    Wonder what would happen if they made a Mekka pizza.
    With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

            Yeah, but it's made of Jesus. These were just named after gods. Big difference.

                some people are religious, some people are not. THERE IS no reason for you to dump on people who are religious because

                A) when you're old you will have no one to turn to HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

                b) they have a bible...what do you have....apolyton... you have NO PROOF religion is fake except that you are looking forward to a lonely death sand man

                C) everyone here seems to hate you so maybe you shouldnt turn to poly either...maybe you should turn to YOURSELF and become even more SELFISH no that's not a good plan either

                  Strange that you mention the bible since this thread is about the hindi religion - is christianity the only real relgion ? Besides that, you neither have any proof that god(s) exist.

                  As said earlier, Oerdin is a bit annoying, but that isn't the same as hating him. If anyone can be blamed to be selfish, it's religious people since they have a tendency to claim that they are right and anyone else that doesn't share their belief is wrong.

                  I don't mind that people are religious, that's their choice and I won't redicule them for being that, but there are all reason to redicule religions just as f.ex. redicule stories about alien abductions.

                        Any religion should tolerate to be made fun of. I am a Christian and believe in the Bible and what makes up the Christian faith. I don't like to be made fun of as such, but I believe in the right of everyone to voice their opinion, however against my faith he or she might be. I expect other religious people to accept that we have different faiths, and differing opinions. And I also expect non-religious people to respect my and other religious people's faith. But respect for faith does not equal a ban on everything that might possibly offend the believer.
