Ecthy - go back to you playing yard - if you want to judge whole nation basing on one stupid woman, then you have to see your doctor.

Wernazuma III - the problem is that Ministry of Education is a head of very small right-wing party which was included into ruling coalition. His actions are so stupid, that I lack words... To be accurate - those authors were not banned, simply they were removed from 'preferred list', but still it's up to the teacher and I hope that most people will read them.
Oh boy, I just realized that I'm advocating for those idiots who are in our government

I support banning Goethe, his books are boring.

      Kafka and Dostoysvki are fine

A government is as loony as it's most loony member. Man, we got boycotted when Haider and his cronies got into Austrian government, yet they'd probably be moderates in Poland...

In this case: don't do it.

I don't think so, and anyway, it probably has to do with the fact that another nationalistic Austrian with 6-letter surname starting with H and ending with R started some war

A lot of noise and nothing happened - Ministry of Education said that it was just a proposition, not decision. So he is trying to save his face now.

Nationalistic Austrian - are you delirious? Austria was an abomination to him and many Austrians back then.

And they were only shooting back at 5.45 after a vicious Polish attack on a radio station.

On a more serious side: please name me any Austrian policy as stupid as these propositions.
I mean, I'm glad the FPÖ is gone, but their overall policy was not more to the right than, say, Sarkozy's.
This of course had to do less with their own views (as exemplified by their garbage slogans used before elections) and more with the overwhelming strength of the Conservatives who had their coalitionary partner under good control. But that is already something...

The thing about Heider was that he was trying to say that Nazis were good people. This was the reason for boycott of Austrian government in Europe.

Jolly good- wrong on Denmark, wrong on Mali, and now you make the mistake of labelling the 20th Century's most notorious Pan-German an Austrian Nationalist.

I'm getting the impression that the Polish education system must have suffered unduly greatly under the Communists.

Haider said a lot of stupid things, but he didn't defend Nazism itself. There is one infamous quote, where he said that the Nazi's had an orderly employment policy", for which he got rightfully bashed and should have quit politics after that, no matter that he later said that "In the past, some remarks have been attributed to me in connection with Nazism which were certainly insensitive or open to misunderstanding."
But the uproar over Nazi-ideology was definitely completely exaggerated.

Where he was more offensive was by styling German/Austrian soldiers as somewhat like defenders of the Occident from Communism, trying to rehabilitate the Wehrmacht and even the Waffen-SS!

Haider was a talented populist and very right wing, but he got even worse press because he was the first populist to reach considerable chunks of voters and because it was in Austria, with its Nazi past. The new FPÖ leader (Strache) is much closer to Neo-Nazism and more aggressive, and the whole party orientated itself definitely more to the right, at the same level as Vlaams Belang more or less.

so that's where your anti-catholic bias came from.

Jolly good- wrong on Denmark, wrong on Mali, and now you make the mistake of labelling the 20th Century's most notorious Pan-German an Austrian Nationalist.
Hitler was a nationalist and he was an Austrian. I have never claimed he was an austrian nationalist.
Are You really so dumb to believe that I don't know a thing about Hitler, or are You so bent on finding any mistakes of mine that You make up some of them? Completely pathetic anyway.

From a Catholic upbringing and education ?

I don't have an anti-Catholic bias. Sorry to disabuse you of that notion.

Hitler was a nationalist and he was an Austrian.
You don't say. Where did you come by that information ?

I have never claimed he was an austrian nationalist.
What did you say to me ?

Are You having troubles with reading ?
                              No:

another nationalistic Austrian with 6-letter surname starting with H and ending with R
You did say that, didn't you ? In this thread ?

                              Perhaps now :

(you are) not saying it's 100% true.
Have good English all ways with you:

Do You really so dumb believe I don't know a thing about Hitler
Well, you were a bit dodgy regarding Denmark's geography and WWII history. One should never assume...

or are You so bent on finding any mistakes of mine You make up some of them?

I promise I never had a hand in them. They're all yours.

                              Completely pathethic anyway.
Jolly good! Pip pip, old bean.

There's a polish proverb saying "it's hard to prove that you're not a camel", which means it's hard to prove the obvious. I know who Hitler was, I know where Denmark is, You must be mad to think I don't.
