I heard they concluded that there is no major risk that the kids will contract homosexuality from watching the show

That would be good news. It's always troubling if children are in danger to catch such a dreadful malady.

Strange argument. It reminds me of the one that says if gay marriages are allowed, this will lead to an increased amount of divorces in traditional marriages.

          How would that work:
"I want a divorce. I only married you because it wasn't legal for me to marry a guy. But with this new law, that's all changed!"

Homophobes seem to be promoting the gay lifestyle as something that's irresistable.

Yes, that's the really fun part of those loons. And then they wonder why we think they're most likely crypto-gays themselves...

                We did I think.

We need them to run our economy

Miss Sowiñska is a bit mad. When there was a question of whether the bishop of Plock, who was decided to become the archbishop of Warsaw, was a communist spy or not, she's sent an emotional letter to the pope to save this bishop from a masonic plot etc.
Her words were disapproved by everyone, even the ruling coalition, including the leader of her own party.
She didn't "ordered psychologists to investigate whether the popular BBC TV show Teletubbies promotes a homosexual lifestyle". She was asked by a newsreporter about it (he later admitted he wanted to provoke her), and she replied that she likes this show, but (...), and that perhaps it should be researched.
It is a silly affair, and it shows what loonies are among the current coalition, but it is somewhat bloated.

It's not bloated. It just shows what brand of lunatics Poland has in positions where they surely don't belong. The Teletubbies episode is simply the most stupid bit of the generally bigotted, ultra-conservative, homophobic atmosphere existing in Poland.

Of course, but some things written in this article are not quite true, as I've said, and some aren't mentioned. It'd give an impression that the ruling coalition supports banning Teletubbies, and it is not true,

This was one of the most funny news here
Tell me, who else has so funny government as we do ?

OK, I know, it's not so funny, we have bunch of idiots up there... I hope that next elections in two years will change everything .

BTW Heresson is right, it was presented in a different way as it really was... still the idea of investigating if Teletubbie...

Yes, I grant you that. That always happens when national news get outisde. Like that "sharia-divorce"-ruling in Germany which actually was quite a bit different than it was painted - but it still was stupid. Similar here.

Oh, and Polish madness (sorry), doesn't seem to stop there.
On a more serious side, forces in the Polish government seek to replace texts of Goethe, Kafka, Dostojewski et al. in literature classes by writings of John Paul II and other authors who infuse more Cathoicism and patriotism in Polish pupils.

                              Poland, get a grip!
