Against the rights laid out in our constitution?

I seem to remember reading all the time with sexual oreintation included. I guess that is because I have been involved with colleges, which have gone beyond what the law says.

My point is that it is the same sort of thing as my other examples, which are clearly wrong. As such, it is wrong.

Nightclubs regularly ban groups of straight men for similar reasons- because they're often *****! Family hotels I'm sure would not get taken to task for refusing to take a booking for "Bumfest 2007" either.

What's the problem again? Oh wait, there isn't one.

It's an interesting notion though: I've always considered heterosexism to be on the same level as racism, but this illustrates to me that there can be cases where heterosexism can be justified... whereas I can think of no condition where banning a particular race could be justified.

There are no inherent constitutional bans on private parties discriminating on basis of race.

The Constitution protects our rights against government, not each other.

Morals vs. the law, Jon .

Many schools do have codes making sexual orientation protected, but the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (passed using the Commerce Clause) doesn't deal with sexual orientation. And the XIV Amendment only deals with government action... and the courts have stated that equal protection jurisprudence doesn't yet extend to sexual orientation.

I support the right of gay bars to bar heterosexuals.

I also support the right of normal bars to bar homosexuals.

Lots of establishments catering to the youthful nighlife crown in Pune allow free entry to women - they know that it's worth it, because it attracts other patrons.

                      Should I call "discrimination"?

                      Or should I enjoy it?

Bars that would bar homosexuals are abnormal

That's not really what I had in mind, but if this is the first thing that occurs to you when I say something like that.......
