Snoopy posts perfectly valid polls. Sn00py, not so much. Stop maligning me

I am all for genetic engineering. I wouldn't do anything fancy, just make sure my child was healthy and had a good immune system, as few as possible cancer-linked genes, etc. I wouldn't do anything to change facial features, height, etc. (unless there were defective height genes or something). A race of 7' people is not interesting to me

If we get all this tech stuff though instead of having children I'll just enlarge my skull and slap in some more brains. I'd look funny but man I'd be smart.

I would contend that "What's a child?" is a stupid question and therefore you are a hypocrite.

I would have removed the very bad case of food allergy that my son suffers from. So, Hell YEAH.

Why would I want to burden my child with all the genetic predisposition to diseases that I have if I can avoid that.

                            Of course I would.

But genetically engineering myself is much more fun.

Difficult question, but a good one. I wouldn't 'enhance' my kid to be above normal, but in case of difficulties and possible problems... I don't know. A logical answer in my world would be absolutely, let's take care of the problem, after all the arguments against it are pretty much close to philosophical ones, so why would you let that get into a way of making sure your kid is 100%?

But... I don't know. On the other hand if there's some problem, it wouldn't mean my kid is less worthy. They share the same priceless value. Then again, it's the kid's life, not mine.

So maybe I should be less selfish and think about it from the kid's point of view. If I had some problems and they could have been taken cared of early on, wouldnt' I want it to be done? A minor modifications, doesn't mean I'm less of a human anyway. Of course I'd want it done. So possibly, most likely I'd fix the kid. But ONLY if there's is a considerable problem and it can be fixed.
