  • Why do I watch bad old movies?

bad old movies seem more interesting than bad new movies. .

For some reason one of the cinemax channels was showing concord affair 79. And flipping through the channels I find it. I missed most of it, but it doesn't matter.

The special effects are truelly horrible. And can anyone tell me how a concord jet can evade 2 missiles?

And why is George Kennedy in every disaster movie in the 70's? He's not that good of an actor. I can't figure out how he found so much work.

He is widely familiar as Joe Patroni in the Airport series of disaster movies from the 1970s, or more recently as Captain Ed Hocken from the Naked Gun trilogy.

You're right about George. He did a really good job in Cool Hand Luke but everything else, he just showed up for. --Maybe that was his magic: He showed up for work and knew his lines.

What you're seeing is someone acting that doesn't appear to be acting. In other words, a good actor.

Why? He said he didn't find bad new movies so interesting.

                    that too.

but I have no desire to watch bad new movies.

watching bad old movies is like a glimpse in the past. Makes you glad you didn't live through the 70's (well I did, but I was real young)

Now I feel stupid. or stupider. It looked like George Kennedy. I guess that's how cheesy that movie was. Not only did they copy american disaster movies, they copied american typecast actors.

let's face it americans make the best (and worst) disaster movies.

did you hear about the combination sequel to Earthquake and Towering Inferno? It's called Shake and Bake.
