I think Pirates 2&3 are just one movie, cutted in 2 in the middle. That includes with all open plots and questions, etc.

I saw it last night, and it was a good "thrill ride" and very enjoyable.

And while the second movie wasn't anywhere near as good as the first, I still enjoyed it.

I'll go see the fourth one

While this may be true, I don't think that absolves the film. It is possible to make a middle-of-a-trilogy that doesn't leave silly loose ends, but still leaves it open for the third. Take the Godfather, Star Wars or Lord of the Rings - the middle films there are simply great films. It is perfectly possible to make a great 2nd film, but they just messed up with Pirates.

        Empire didn't have loose ends?

What are you talking about? It was released yesterday and I've seen in the movie theater.

Of course it had loose ends, my point was it didn't wreck the film. It didn't leave you thinking the characters weren't acting quite as their character would, nor were the loose ends silly enough to remove the ability to suspect your disbelief.

Godfather wasnt made as a trilogy, now was it? The third came out like 15 years after the first two, didnt it? GF3 was to the GF series, what SW epi 1-3 are to the SW series, no?

Well, the fact it came out much later doesn't stop it being a trilogy. It does highlight the idea that all three films must stand alone as well as work in tandem, and should all be made with an ending. I just feel there are plenty of examples of trilogies where the middle film isn't crap, so there's really no excuse for the middle film being poor just because it's the middle film.

PotC III was a nice action romp. I went to the 11:30 p.m. Thursday night showing and the theater was so crowded that a second screen was turned on. This after two screens were used for an 8 p.m. showing.

Not bad, considering I live in a fairly rural area of the nation.

                          I enjoyed it very much.

3 questions.. Did the gigantic black woman say f-word you?

Was there a scene after the credits? I did not stay after the credits.

Am I the only one who had forgotten much from the second (and first movies)?

Just as the first two movies, there was indeed a scene after the credits.

                            Spoiler:
It's a scene set ten years in the future, showing Will returning for his day off from his eternal duty captaining The Flying Dutchman, coming to shore to see Elizabeth and their child.

My daughter believes the actor playing the kid is the same one featured singing on the gallows in the opening scene. No doubt she will see it again and confirm...

                              Excellent stuff .

Far better than the second one. And very well done with the story. The 'twist' at the end took me by surprise, since I didn't think they'd actually do it, even though there was foreshadowing.

And the action scene at the end was just classic. An absolutely wonderful naval battle.

And the wedding scene in the middle amused me to no end .
