  • The fruit thread

First of all, I would like everyone to notice that I spelled "the" as "the", not as "teh" in the thread title. I know that such behaviour is commonly frowned upon, and may lead to bans if perpetuated. Please don't hold it against me though. If a mod is truly offended, feel free to edit the thread title

Now this thread is just about different fruits, and my feelings towards them

Apples: Love them. I eat several a day. The world would be a lot worse without them.

Strawberries: Why is it that strawberries only come in two variations. Big beautiful ones with absolutely no taste whatsoever, and small, gnarly ones that taste like the best thing you have ever had One would think that with modern technology, it would be possible to come up with a strawberry that keeps the best of both worlds. In general though: Strawberries

Bananas: My wife is Thai, and in Thailand, if it's a fruit, you can eat it before it is ripe with chillies and fish-sauce. Since experiencing that, my feelings towards bananas have changed a bit. Not really fond of bananas, though. Never have been. They are too squishy, but I guess the taste is sort of ok.

Pears: There is a window of opportunity of about a minute and a half where a pear is the best thing. Period. Better than sex. Before that small time period, the pear is harder than reinforced concrete, and sour as hell. After, it is so soft and squishy that is gets mashed out even if you look at it. Catch the pear within that minute and a half, though, and you will be in heaven

Peaches: I am quite certain that were peaches discovered today, no-one would want them. I mean, really the taste is not very nice. They drip like hell, and it is impossible to eat a peach without drooling all over your clothes. They look good though

See, I love "all" nuts, too. Peanuts, cashews, almonds. Think I'm going to speak of nuts at this homo hangout?

I can eat cooked apples to. Whenever I eat apples I get rash under my lip. It seems to be my skin that is allergic to apples because if slice them into bit sized pieces (that way no bits of the apples get everywhere I bite) I get no rash when eat them.

I had star fruit for the first time yesterday. Tastes like an asian market. Refreshing. Nice texture. Cool and moist.

being how it is though, I try to eat fruit every day

generally oranges though, and too often in juice form

I like berries a lot, but they are expensive fresh, and I can't seem to find them frozen (I would eat a lot more of them frozen)
