  • 24 - Time tTo Sleep

Well, we got through another season.

I'm shocked that here was no resolution to the Pres. Palmer issue in the 2-hr finale. Other than that, no real surprises. Oh, except for the silent countdown at the end. That was a nice touch.

Yeah, another Tolkien type finish (plot basically over with too much time left)
Pretty satisfying. Unrealistic to have Palmer recover enough in the time span.
Another totally wacko season comes to an end.

My one question though is that Division came in to crawl up everyone's behind with three episodes left, but then we never see them again. DOH

          Was that for Milo?

I still have to watch the finale... I'll do that tonight I think.

Pretty good finale for a pretty mediocre season, I thought. Still too many dropped storylines, as in seasons past, though... did Logan die or not? Whatever happened to Sandra and Walid? And the mysterious group trying to assassinate the President while framing Al-Assad kind of disappeared too.

And come on, Jack -- you just had to leave the oil rig without shooting some more bullets through the boat (or your father) first... why leave even the slightest opportunity to escape? (Well, it wouldn't be 24 then, that's why.)

            Best dialogue of the night:
            "You're pregnant? With a child?"
            "That's how it usually works..."

Much better season finale than this turd sandwich of a season deserved, that's for damned sure.

Yeah, you should do a final ranking.

Are you talking about a new season? In lame German TV they had season 5 some months ago, so I'm probably not up to date.

I just thought the show gets somehow repetitive - I mean I generally like it, but I had more and more the feeling of déjà vu last time I saw it. There's always Jack Bauer facing tough choices, doing something against the rest of the CTU, there's often a traitor, the bad guys have always sophisticated plans within plans within plans etc.

It may of course have to do with the genre itself, like you often had aliens, away teams and space battles in StarTrek, or murdered people in some crime show.

Still, despite the constant drive for even more drama in 24 some elements looked often kinda "recycled" in the later seasons. I don't have the same feeling in nBSG yet, though I only know the first two seasons there.

Well, maybe this season (?) of 24 is different?

No, it's worse than season 5.
