  • How did they make the saunas ?

Once upon a time a finn accidentially fell into a lake. Not that such hadn't appeared before, but this time the poor guy had hit a deep spot so it took a while before he managed to splash his way back to solid ground. As a side effect of all this splishing and splashing he got rid of all the dirt that usually covered his body. Normally such wouldn't mean much, but he soon discovered that his fellow finns thought that he was some kind of evil spirit - he didn't smell .

Because of this he bacame an outcast and despite he soon got his his smelly layer of dirt back, he was still viewed with suspiciousness - he had after all been without smell for a period.

Lonely as he was, he soon became weird and started to have fantasies involving the concept of a clean body. He knew that the standard punishment of wifes with birkeris could remove dirt, so he wanted to include that as a part of his new concept.

Although the whipping and the cold water had an effect, the dirt growed faster than the cleansing so after several years of experimenting he died as a disapointed person. Although he was considered a loonatic, he actually got some followers and one day one of these got a bright idea - hot water !!!! Unfortunatedly, they hadn't invented fire so it took some hundreds of years before they could take this idea into use.

Though, one day the concept of fire reached finland and the cult got new life. Saunas was built across the area - and they burnt down at almost same speed. Fire was apparently difficult to control.

It was dire times but then again a brigth head got an idea - warming stones and use them as heaters - only problem - no finns knew what a stone was. It took yet several more hundred years before such was invented, but then the sauna was a reality !!!

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Saunas are where teh gay guys meet
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

Sauna is a small room designed to be heated to very high temperatures, with well-controlled humidity. Saunas are used both for recreational and therapeutic purposes, with most people utilizing them as a relaxation tool that provides additional health benefits. The majority of saunas are built of wood, often aromatic, that release pleasing aromas as they heat.
