  • It's that time again - Eurovision song contest

Did I mention that I hate it?

Still no reason not to babble about it

Who's going to win this time? I heard rumours of a vast Eastern European conspiracy ...

You Sir, should be forced to review every single ESC that has been made including the national for reminding us of this
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

                Boycott the Eastivision Incest-Contest.

From all the semi final contestants who made it to the final, all are east of Slovenia...

There need to be regional prelimninaries, so only a certain number of East European nations go to the final.

Great. No one to embarrass Israel this time.

Eurovision always seems to be 99% horrible auditory torture, with a handful of songs (at most) that don't make your ears bleed.

Still, for some inexplicable reason, I always seem to endure this formidable test of manhood in front of the TV, though I have to admit to cheating through the most gruesome tortures by channel surfing, or distracting myself on YouTube.
Only the most intelligent, handsome/beautiful denizens of apolyton may join the game :)

                        it's nice to see our entry is, in the best traditions of eurovision, both;

                        extremely camp; and
                        extremely bad

My observations so far (I didn't see all participants yet):

*Ukraine has understood the spirit of the competition and will do well, perhaps even win.

*Georgia, the newcomer, goes against the spirit of the competition by not being completely ridiculous and/or crappy but will nevertheless do fairly well.

*UK will get about 4 points (1 from Norway, 3 from Ireland); France, Germany and Spain will do slightly better.

*Sweden will end up in around 8th position and whine about The Great East European Conspiracy Against Glorious Scandinavian Schlager.

*Moldova will get the pimply geek/polytubby votes.

*Russia will be the main competitor for those votes.

*Greece will get the teen girl votes.

I went in and listened to the replay during the voting. Norway's song was crap. Norway's song was among the best. Norway didn't make it to the final. Eurovision is doomed.
