      I'm on about Africans being allowed to die by the side of the road, because they don't have enough money to pay for something that is widely known to be able to alleviate their suffering, and that can cost pennies to produce.

      I have no wonder that a continent in the midst of a fatal epidemic, that can't get affordable relief for begging from the rich is totally willing to tell us to go **** ourselves. They will play the joke to the limit.

            How about compelling them to, and setting up adequate protections for 1st world markets? Aside from what KH asked, would you buy your medical drugs off a street corner?

            After all, even Bill Gates has caught on. You can buy Windows in a developing market for $10. A stone can only give what it has. He realises that a paying customer is better than no customer. When will the pharma companies be forced to realise that a live human is much better than a dead one?

                  I suppose largely for the same reasons they haven't prioritized say, clean water access for the populace to any wider extent. Lack of accountability, and no real demand for any change to the status quo. No wonder Zimbabwe was carried to the chair by acclamation.

                  It's not just a sub-Saharan occurence, by the way. Look at the situation of the Bulgarian nurses in Libya. "Problem? What problem? No problem!"
