Petrol is a gas still. Cell phone is because of the way towers are set up. A lot of people in the US also call them wireless phones, or just say phones.

American 'biscuits' are more like British/Aussie 'scones' than anything else.

Esp. Aussie pumpkin scones- very tasty.

You could have them with gravy...

They ain't got ears? What's that supposed to mean?

Yup, here in the South a buscuit is something to be smothered in cream gravy or poured over your chicken fried steak or sausage added for breakfast. A cookie is a cookie.

But alot of people I've talked to really seem to like chewy over crunchy.

A cookie is something chewy, a biscuit (biccie) is something crunchy. In general.

It's all in the timing. You have so many minutes to cook the cookie just before that time is up if you look at the cookie around the edges it turns all lovely and crispy brown but the center is still a bit soft and chewy. They are fully cooked but you just don't let them go quite as long and you really do have to watch them to know when is just the right moment to take them out of the oven. That's the perfect oatmeal cookie, a little crunchy on the edge and chewy in the center.

You don't get cookie's with oatmeal here, our American cookies are really just cakes in the shape of biscuits
