Doesn't this depend on how the poll was worded? I mean, if it was "did Bush know there was likely to be an imminent terrorist attack on US soil?", then yes is a lot more accurate than "did Bush know terrorists would fly a plane into the WTC on 9/11?"

Most polls depend on the wording and you can usually tell the bias of the polling company by reading the poll and the options.

The typical claim made by rightwing talk shows is to blame Reagan's terrible budget deficits on the Democrats. But does that claim stand up to actual facts?

Some say Reagan had nothing to do with the debt's U turn
They say it was Congressional Democrats. Not true. Had things worked out just as Reagan proposed and predicted, the debt still would have gone up 85% as much. But even this is deceptive. The reason his predicted savings did not materialize was not Congress. The reason was that he predicted much more economic growth from supply-side magic than actually happened. So he counted on taxes that were never collected to help his budgets. In fact a study by the House found that Reagan asked for $29.4 billion more in spending than Congress passed.

The basic facts are that Reagan was one of the worst Presidents ever. He sure wasn't a small government Republican like the rightwingers claim (including one in this very thread) and instead Reagan just spent, spent, and then spent some more. All the while cutting social services. and giving the finger to America's vets. Reagan certainly belongs in the hall of shame and we haven't even gotten to Reagan's criminal history.

If I was ordered to leave Texas, two places I'd consider going are Colorado Springs or San Diego. I would like San Diego's climate, but falling into the ocean someday has it's drawbacks.

yup, I'd like to live in San Diego. I did as a kid, Solano Beach. We were right on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Back when the middle class could afford beach property. Whats the weather like there? Its 80 degrees and sunny... Actually some people get bored by the mild weather.
