  • The effect of women on men (About the french election)

All this time I had wanted Sarkozy to win, because I agree more with his ideas.

But these days before the ballotage, I had been hoping more and more for a victory of Segolene, because she is a nice looking woman, and I would hate to see her cry

I think Sego would look great crying
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

I bet she is crying now, or at least trying to contain her tears, so people wont think she is weak....

I saw two of them debate each other few days ago. Never having seen her before, I thought that she is good looking, even somewhat attractive.

But Sarkozy won the debate hands down. He was firm on immigration and Turkey and she hesitated. I was certain he would win then, and I expected a larger margin.

Sagolene didn't strike me as being a leader. Nice lady, but without the leader charisma. And with bad politics. She had to lose.

I don't think she is crying now. I don't think she was very emotionally involved in this. It's just a show.

Are the communists hurting the moderate left in France?

Not in the 2nd round, I'd presume, unless they believe Stalin's dictum that socdems are worse than fascists.

The communist party has participated in governments. They're not considered 'true' communists by the far left.

Segolene has an evil look in her eyes when you see her live. I thought she showed disrespect to Sarkozy. Still, I guess that goes down well in the banleiues,

At 2% of the votes, we can't hurt anything anymore.

Well, the gap between Sarkozy and Royal was just 6%. If the commies all were good little Stalinists and voted for Sarky, that's the better part of the margin already.

                              Page 2 and 5

On page two, you see the lefties who didn't vote Royal on the first round: they voted Royal at the second round by 72%, Sarko 8%, Blank 5%, Abstained 15%

The stalinist reaction was quite low.
