After the world wars, there are no generations. People's births and deaths are a continuum. Before that, there was differentiation due to enlistment age being the criteria of having gone through the meatgrinder or not.

No, Sloww isn't a dumbass who puts his problems off on others. I never expected nor had a silver spoon in my mouth. If something isn't as it should be, I try to correct it if possible, deal with it as is if I can't correct it, or abandon as unworth my time and effort, and find a better means. I do this, rather than plopping myself down on an unexercised ass, where I procede to lament the cruelty of the world.

How much time did you just waste whining?

        Generation X

It's amazing the BS perpetrated on the country by boomers and gen y'ers.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Whiners are (often) more boring than liars.

                    I don't know what I am.

                    I blame everyone for everything.

                    There, I feel much better.

Generation X: first we bankrupt the nation morally, and on our way out the door, we'll bankrupt it financially.

The generation of today's young adults under 25 and teenagers most resemble are the dying GI generation, the people who are the foot soldiers in World War II and the Rosie the Riveters. That was the generation that was known for its civic purpose and teamwork and upbeat attitudes and institutional trust. The fact that they are dying means that we have this perceived need in our society for something to replace that. And what is interesting...is that this is how today's young millennials can rebel, like being like that generation and stepping into that void. And so rather than being echo boomers, they're anti-boomers. They see the problems of the world as being associated with the downside that they perceive in their own older parents, and so they want to fix that. And the things that the boomers have been associated with, like individualism, things that Xers have been associated with, like taking things to the edge, these young kids are pushing back from."
