It's no wonder we didn't win to many hearts and minds. That said the Army told soldiers never to stop in traffic since that's when attacks often happen so GIs would basically play bumper cars using their humvees to get the natives out of their way. An ******* thing but often necissary.

Believe it or not everyone used to weld steel plates to the front of their humvees (that's in addition to the large steel bumper and cattle grill already there) just so they could bump the cars of other drivers who wouldn't get out of their way when they honked.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.Comment

Bumping cars is nasty but that's what needs to be done a lot. What can you do about it really. Volunteer to be ambushed? I don't think so.

Actually, the high amount of deaths attributed to traffic accidents is one way to reduce the amount of deaths due to enemy action. For example, if you're in a convoy and the vehicle ahead of you is blown up by an IED, and you're injured when you crash into the wreckage, you're officially considered to have been injured in a traffic accident and not wounded due to enemy action.Originally posted by MOBIUS
