            • Gawd, the CD at work is broken so I'm stuck listening to old cassettes. Crappy recordings of Iron Maiden and other 80´s metal. And someone took the cassettes with Johnny Cash and Creedence

But after listening to the same cassettes for two weeks, I'm getting fed up. I want some music recorded after 1990 dammit!

                        Notes
When Peter Gabriel left Genesis in the mid 1970s to pursue a solo career, drummer Phil Collins was moved to vocals and the band continued to release influential albums of smart, complex, progressive rock. This deluxe 12-disc box set focuses on the band's albums from this period and up through the early '80s (when they began to produce more pop-oriented material), making it a definitive portrait of the band at one of its many creative peaks. But while the original music is crucial, it's only one of several draws of 1976-1982. Each album features crisply remastered sound, allowing the sophistication of the arrangements and the quality of the musicianship to truly pop. Moreover, each album is paired with a DVD featuring a 5.1 audio mix and extra video material, including interviews, promo videos, and live footage. Additionally, there is a bonus disc of singles, rarities, and B-sides, as well as a lavish, 48-page, photo-packed book. This beautifully assembled box is a must for Genesis fans, and a great way for casual fan to delve into one of the band's most fruitful periods. DVD Features: DVD Features include: All tracks from the bonus CD remixed in 5.1 Digital DTS Music videos: Paperplate Reissues interview 2007

Meh. I prefer the Gabriel years.

Look at this commentary. Doesn't look good Not sure why he says they're SACD's, though.

Nick Davis should be fired, really. He just went wrong!. He killed every single song of this Box Set by mixing very digital and compressed. Now everything is LOUD, and dynamics are absolutely gone The whole Box Set (particulary W&W and Duke) require more tweaking along with some extra volume reduction to get them listenable!. These are by far the LOUDEST SACD I've ever had the misfortune to listen to. The cymbals are so jacked up...fatiguing, and the overall sound is painfully bright, harsh. unforgivable mistakes were commited: the echoed "I" on Turn It On Again is now gone, the fantastic vocal harmonies on Entangled are now mixed behind Phil's voice, the "singalong" effect on Ripples is gone too, etc. For worse, most of the bonus stuff (live footage) are presented in better quality on EFDVD/GMDVD bootlegs!. I hope we won't find these mistakes on the Gabriel era Box Set, the real treat. I will pass the awful selling out era (1983-1997) (despite the selling out began with Follow You Follow Me, it was 100% present with Abagag in 1981) When it comes to the Gabriel Years it better be closer to the type of sound the Talking Heads box exhibits or there will be hell to pay I am sure. The early Genesis releases should be treated correctly. The rabid Genesis fans sit on the Gabriel side of the fence. There will be much greater outrage. I will lead the battle on that one. The Gabriel years Box Set (1970-1975) if by far the most awaited one, and I really hope the sound will make justice to the best Genesis (and the most overlooked by Tony Banks) era. Also I hope it will contain ALL the bonus stuff we haven't been allowed before, like Roundhouse 1970, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway private archives, the BBC sessions, The Jackson Tapes, etc. I was really horrified by this awful sounding Box Set. The sound of these SACDs go totally against the philosophy of the progressive music.

                                EDIT: About the SACD:

in the U.K., the first disc contains hybrid SACDs of the albums, raising this question why they aren't in this format in the U.S., especially since the bonus disc in this box is a hybrid SACD in all territories
