GASP! Who'd thought that such a radical idea like "your job performance is not related to your sexual orientation" would come closer to becoming law in Iowa?
Bunch of backwards rednecks. WTF is wrong with these neanderthals that they remain so far behind the times?
Are they dense? Have they no worldly knowledge? Are they living in the 400's?
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

MrFun why does Iowa of all places have such a large (or at least visibly large) gay population? Some of my experience is anecdotal but I've known (through intarwebs and in person) probably a dozen gay/lesbian Iowans, out of two dozen.
It sounds like you don't live in Iowa, mrm. Hence out of the two dozen Iowans who have (possibly for the most of them) LEFT Iowa that you have met, half of them are gay. That might support MrF's inference about his state...

What are the laws in Texas regarding employment and gays? Marriage between gay men?

First, what percentage do you believe is gay in our population? I tend to believe it somewhere around ten percent.
Let's take where I live now (Quad Cities), which is divided by the Mississippi River so part of Quad Cities is in Illinois, other part is in Iowa. Entire population of Quad Cities, including outlaying, smaller towns - 330,000 as conservative off-hand guess at this moment.
Let's take Davenport, which is an Iowa city of Quad Cities. I think Davenport has population of 100,000 -- it's the largest of the Quad Cities.
So just in Davenport, Iowa alone we may have 10,000 gays and lesbians. This would include those who are part of the gay "community" and those who are closeted and/or married whom you and I may never hear from.

What makes you think Texas cares about gay men? Better yet, outside of the pansified liberal bastions, what makes you think the US cares about gay men and their plight? Just be happy for the fact that homos are regarded in higher esteem than Arabs and abandon your activist ways.
