I find 2% the best choice, not as thick as whole milk, but still taste like something.
Also, some vitamis are fat soluble, like vitamin A, so milk with fat has more calories, but is also more nutritious if compared to skim milk not fortified with outside vitamin A. The fat is in milk for a reason folks.

So? There is no reason whatsoever for an adult mammal to be drinking huge amounts of milk, period. So large amounts of fat should not be an issue if you drink milk in sane amounts.
Besides, drinking too much milk makes you lose calcium because your body will release calcium to counteract the acids formed by the digestion of the high content of protein, so if getting lots of calcium is a reason to drink vast amounts of milk, the practice is actually counterproductive.
Get your calcium from green vegetables, which you should be eating anyways for all the other nutrients.
Anyone who has to worry about getting fat from milkfat is drinking too much milk. That simple.

So much nonsense..
There really is no need to be drinking (or eating) full-fat versions of anything just becuase "you'd have to eat a lot of it to get fat". In case you hadn't noticed saturated fat consumption is way too high and this is one way in which it can be recuced.

Q7. What happens in my body if I get too much protein?
Too much protein in the diet is a serious problem that causes liver and kidney failure as well as softening of the bones. The reason for this is that the body does not store protein. It has to get rid of the excess protein in the diet which is done by the liver and the kidneys working together. The protein must first be neutralized. This takes calcium to neutralize the acid proteins. This calcium comes from the bones. So for the same reason – excess protein in the diet causing an acid diet, we have three epidemics going on together from the same cause – an epidemic of liver disease, an epidemic of kidney failure with dialysis units springing up working around the clock and an epidemic of osteoporosis with hip fractures and spine compression fractures taking place in younger and younger people. This is caused by too much protein giving a too acid diet.

Q5. How much protein does a body need every day?
About 25 grams of protein has been established by laboratory studies is what the average adult person need to eat each day.

2% tastes better than skim milk in my book. Besides, the only people getting too much saturated fat are those eating far too many animal products for their own good. Anyone eating a healthy, balanced diet has nothing to fear from whole milk, because they won't have a problem with excess saturated fats.

Outdated medical advice really should not be on the net.
"Besides, the only people getting too much saturated fat are those eating far too many animal products for their own good."
Rubbish - all sorts of cakes, sweets, biscuits and non-animal products are full of saturated fats. A small amount are necessary for hormone production, but no more than 20g per day.
I agree that no more than 25 or so g of protien is needed for adult humans. Lots and lots of studies show that this is the case.
Many studies also show that increased fat loss, and increased muscle gain, happen at much higher levels of protien.
I am interested in how to get the calcium needed with the higher levels of protien. I am trying to increase mine from 20-80g per day to 100+ g per day (staying below 180 g). I won't stick with that idea though if I am not getting the calcium needed.
I had heard that thing about milk though, that issues with acidity caused it to be not that great for calcium.

Jon, just base every meal around a lean source of protein. The ideal diet would be five meals a day, each with something like 40g protein, 40g low GI carbs,10g good fats, and a serving of fruit or veg each.

And a healthy balanced diet would not include those things you mentioned anyways. So the point remains, only those with ****ty diets have to worry about the saturated fat in milk. They should start first with the cakes and biscuits and sweets.

That does get the minimum, preferibly you would have much much more though.
