This is about publicity for the Pageant, which is Miss America's job as the winner. AMW is just the vehicle for this operation and the publicity.

ITs like if you actually KNEW that b etor was 53 year old FBI agent. If you could prove that (thats the big IF), you could never be convicted sicne they could not show that you intended to have sex with a 15 year old girl.

Here in Canada btw, you break no law if you sleep with a 14 year old with consent on both sides ( as long as you are not in a position of authority)- 14 is the age of consent.

There might be laws around internet luring though-- I've never checked-- and there are definitley laws against child pornography or giving booze. From a legal point of view I have always found that inconsistent. A 40 year old could have a naked 14 year old in front of them and at that moment it woulld be legal to do anything at all sexual with her with her consent-- But if you took one nude photo of her with her consent , you break a law?

That one amuses me as well.

Consider also a teenage couple that take nude pictures of each other (I do not know of a "close in age" exemption for this offence) or, heaven forbid, they take pictures AND email them to each other.

I think the intended fix on the porn versus sex one is to raise the age of consent so it matches.

Likewise the child porn rules have to have "close in age" or "both underage" type restrictions or you end up criminalizing stuff that I think is totally ouside the intent

One could do that with ordinary undercover cops too. I think the most positive thing is that because of media exposure more possible predators may be deterred for fear of being tricked.
Maybe I understood wrong, but this seems to have been a "flashlight on" action, which is a form of entertainment I don't approve. They should have made normal coverage after the action itself.

The main interest in catching predators should be catching predators and not making Miss America look good and raise the ratings of a TV-show...

The police are highly supportive of America's Most Wanted, because it has helped them catch many criminals. It is sort of like the military forces being supportive of films/etc which they think will encourage people to sign up. Here is even more so, as AMW has a proven track record.

What Mrs. Tubes is saying, is that b etor does evil sexual things with men, so this makes her an out of control whore. We don't give a crap, we all encourage these actions (except for MRT144 who it appears to be a stalking her at times, though always with good advice). However, if we were her parents we'd take reasonable action, like go and kill the men she sleeps with, because that's what parents do.
