Yeah, you have a bigger bad guy, but no one knows who he is or what he can do. He may not even be revealed until midway through next season, and maybe in snippets. Sylar is a great villain to keep in the foreground, with the bigger baddie in the background biding his time.

I wondered if somehow Mama petrelli will turn out to be some sort of evil badass-- and I mean even more evil than wanting to blow up NYC-- There are hints that she has powers but we have never seen them that I recall.

I think Sylar should be dead. It stretches things too far IMHO if he can drag himself down a sewer . No one noticed?? Hiro should have decapitated the guy

Anyways, was quite disappointed by the finale, and in fact the past few episodes. In the future episode, peter says that he hasn't had a good fight in a while. But then, we don't see his fight with Sylar in the future, and instead of using his powers to beat Sylar in the finale, he resorts to punching him. And the whole thing is still over in a minute. The entire second half of the season led up to this moment; they shouldn't have had the moment suck.

Still, glad to see Hiro about to get medieval on a bunch of samurai.

I thought about that... and I figured that aside from Ted's nuke power, what other offensive power does Peter have? I guess he can do a bit of telekinesis (he shoved Sylar across the room in their first battle) and maybe get some of Nikki/Jessica's super strength. But aside from that, what?

He can read minds, super-heal, turn invisible, fly, nuke... and that's about it, isn't it?

                • He should have what ever powers Sylar has; freeze, melting (whatever that was)

Only in a conversation with other geeks could "he can read minds, super-heal, turn invisible, fly, nuke..." possibly be followed with "and that's about it, isn't it?"

I think he only gains the powers that Sylar uses around him (like he used telekinesis when chasing down Claire, flinging locker doors everywhere).

                      • Parkman reminded me too much of the heavyset cop from Third Watch.

I think as Guy said, he can probably absorb powers Sylar actually uses (as opposed to simply holds in reserve)... or Sylar has too many powers inside of him that Peter can't really focus to get a handle on any one.

                            • The writers have said that Peter has access to all of Sylar's powers, as long as he knows about them.

                              • Not true about Peter absorbing powers only when they are used. Remember when he met the Nuke guy for the first time, he suddenly had a problem.

And, because he is still a bit of a pansy girl, unlike Sylar, he has not learned to use his abilities well. He only seems to use them in times of panic or if he really concentrates.

Power-wise, Sylar is no match for Peter at all, but skill-wise, Sylar has/had the advantage. It's only a matter of time before Peter becomes Superman.
