ALAPPUZHA (Kerala): A RSS functionary was hacked to death by unidentified persons at Charummood in the district late Friday night.

The body of G Chandran, a taluk karyavah of RSS, was found in a field on Saturday morning with multiple injuries, police said.

The RSS and BJP leaders alleged that CPI(M) workers were behind the murder.

The Sangh Parivar outfits called a dawn-to-dusk hartal the district on Saturday in protest against the incident. Tension prevailed in the area to where a strong police team had been rushed.

It seems to be a Hindu nationalist party in India. They're claiming one of their people got killed by communists but no proof is provided and so I'm as likely to believe the man was killed in a botched robbery as anything else. After all, extremist political/religious propaganda pages lie so often.

In any event this thread show the reason why India sucks so bad, why 40% of the population can't read, why millions are left pooping in the streets & drinking polluted water, why you have to pay bribes to get a telephone connected or electricity or just about anything else in a country which has institutionalized corruption.

Namely, the people are like aneeshm and let themselves get carried away with identity politics concerning their religious group or their ethnic group. The ruling officials are to corrupt, incompetent, apathetic, or stupid to bother building decent infrastructure, educate the people in skills the market needs, or end the corruption which blankets everything (in India you literally have to bribe someone every time you want to get anything done). The government doesn't bother to pave roads, build utility lines to poor parts of the country, build enough power plants so that the power doesn't go out every day for the people who have bribed their way into getting service, or build schools which are worth a crap in most of the country. China does do these things but India's government doesn't seem to ever be bothered. The state doesn't have the money to fund the infrastructure improvements as the state owned industries are bloated money losers yet the government is to paralyzed to let private industry go forward with building utilities. It's a ****ed up place which has become marginally less ****ed up but which has a loooonnnnnggggg way to go before they get to the level of human development China has much less the west.

Is this how all of your respond when a man who loved his country is murdered? This is not the first - there have been quite a few murders of young RSS people in communist states before. Here are the names of some of them:

Please note all these leaders when did their balidan where in their late twenties to early fourties ..all were budding leaders with exceptional organizational strength.

CPM went to supreme court after raising about crores of rupees from public thru govt and muscle power..Got them out of the punishment and set all free except one. They came out and told in public thru party channel..IF party ask us to do more like this we will do again and again

Sunil Kumar - Hindu Aikya vedi District secretary RSS Kilimanoor thaluk karyavahak (suburb of Trivandrum capital city)--Hacked to death by NDF activists in early morning while he was on his way to distribute news paper..NO big progress other than few arrests

Sooraj from Pinarayi a traditional strong hold of CPM and where the current CPM state secretary belong to..Sooraj was an ex-CPM activist and joined CPM coz he felt CPM is in line with NDF and questioned some of his collegues who were muslims attacking sabarimala devotees on their way to pilgrimage..he was expelled from CPM and he joined RSS..he was strong enough to withstand and started sakha in CPM fort and was killed..no arrests..no case

Murugananda kumar of Dhanuvachapuram college a suburb in Trivandrum was killed by a gang with cricket bat..he was hit in this head by a bat..no case...no arrests so far

These were all men who had done great amounts of work in social development, and had dedicated their lives to the service of the country. They were also the budding generation of the leadership of the RSS. People like these are murdered, but nothing ever gets done. Political parties use their clout to get the perpetrators out of jail and out of the hands of the justice system any way they can. The police follows whatever the higher-ups command. The RSS, not involved in politics itself, cannot defend itself against things like this.

If the only response people like Oerdin can give to their murder is to diss the country they died for, I don't think I have much left to say.

Why should we care? Half the people here don't care about nationalism, and for the other half who do, it didn't happen in their country.
