OK I'll be good. Gawd I can't believe you guys fell for that. The "permanent record" was first mentioned in an episode of Leave It To Beaver in the 1950s.
The idea was subsequently picked up by Dobbie Gillis and I Love Lucy. It was briefly revived in the 1970s by Happy Days.
Though I do vaguelly remember watching a few happy days reruns as a kid. I never cared for the show much. It seemed horribly outdated. Yes I know it was supposed to take place in the 50's.Comment
