Do his relatives really think that Jim ****ing Morrison is doomed to be remembered as a sex offender unless they do something?

    QFT.
Jim Morrison's lewd acts are way down on the list of things he is known for.

In fact they seem hellbent on getting everyone to find out about it - because I never knew that either...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

I read the biography of Jim, that's the only reason I knew about it. Us young kids who weren't born back then had no clue. I think he was dead before I was born (73).

            Vonnegut>Thompson

Vonnegut once said that of all the ways to die, he'd prefer to go out in an airplane crash on the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. He often joked about the difficulties of old age.

"When Hemingway killed himself he put a period at the end of his life; old age is more like a semicolon," Vonnegut told The Associated Press in 2005.

"My father, like Hemingway, was a gun nut and was very unhappy late in life. But he was proud of not committing suicide. And I'll do the same, so as not to set a bad example for my children."

“In a democracy, I realize you don’t need to talk to the top leader to know how the country feels. When I go to a dictatorship, I only have to talk to one person and that’s the dictator, because he speaks for all the people.” - Jimmy Carter

So did he die because of his smoking habits like he wished?

He died from a fall he took. I don't know the specifics but IIRC he suffered a head injury.

I was going to see him speak in Indy on April 27th as part of Vonnegut week. His son was still going to speak when Vonnegut wasn't going to make it because of the fall, but now I'm not so sure they'll do that.
I never know their names, But i smile just the same

I thought Vonnegut tried to off himself in the '80s but couldn't pull it off...

Vonnegut is one of my favorite authors. "Rosewater" is great.
