  • Something in a European's Pocket is Bigger than an American's

I just noticed that European business cards are bigger than American ones.

I have a big stack of business cards I've collected over the years. All the American ones are pretty much standardized. Same height and width. The three European cards I have (2 British, 1 French) are all different sizes.

All three however are taller than Americans. Two of them are wider too, and one of them (British) is less wide.

Are Americans more efficient since our cards are all the same? Are Europeans more individualistic? Less organized? Is this a totally inane thread?

    Important questions of our time.

My EU sense is tingling, surely this is a matter that must be thoroughly and expensively investigated and a european standard set. Only for french farmers to dump a load of manure outside the office in charge and them to piss their pants and withdraw everything.

And also, the investigation must be based in both France and Belgium. To hell with costs.
It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - Drosedars

It's probably because Europeans have more spare room in their pockets to begin with.

I don't know, all the cards I've gotten are pretty much the same size, but I've noticed that since I do have one American card, it's a bit smaller. But only a little bit.

man purses? I don't know, I don't have one. I guess it's a French thing. Or Italian. If someone has man purses, it's bound to be either of those two.

Man purse? Isn't that usually called a wallet?

Oh right, the American 'purse' is a bag. So a man purse is a manbag.

So Americans don't have manbags and anything in their pants is smaller than the European equivalent? Sounds about right to me.

if America sucks so bad... why does the rest of the world keep COMPARING yourselves to it?

why not compare yourself to, say, China or something...?

Yea, it is only a slight difference.

I don't know about size, but Europeans tend to have more colorful, artful business cards and/or their photo on the card. It's a bit corny, but at least you'll remember the guys.

American business cards have to be small enough to fit in a compartment in a man's wallet. Maybe the same isn't true in Europe.
