  • What Book Would You Like To See On The Big Screen?

Assuming it would be done right of course. Better yet, what good book do you like but would be a disaster if made into a movie.

From my standpoint, I've found its usually better to see the movie first then read the book. That way, you can be pleasantly surprised by how much more detail the book has. LOTR was like this. I've watched all of the Harry Potter movies because the kids usually want to go see them when they come out but after looking at little into the books, they actually seem to be pretty good. Last week, we watched Ereagon sp? and it seemed like a lot of the story had been chopped out. The books might be better reading maybe..
Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

Tolkien's The Hobbit, directed by Peter Jackson

All of Terry Prachett's Disc World books.

            Poul Anderson's The High Crusade

...and I'd like to see Bernard Cornwell's Warlord Chronicles get turned into a 6-part TV mini-series. (It's too big to fit into a single movie.)
