The prison end doesn't need much coverage. The last 2 minutes as a slide show after being busted with the last shot being Tony forlorn with the loud 'bang' of the door slamming shut.

I doubt they would continue with life behind bars for Tony. The show is already over.

They wouldn't, but the feeling the viewer's left with would, and they seem to be more conscious of that than most shows. I think we'd see a more forlorn Tony if he had to go home to more of the same.

It all depends how you shoot it.

Very creative people could make a good finale with either script.

          The social message remains though.

Does public enemy life at the end?

Tony certainly is not one to let opportunity pass him by. I saw the accident coming, but not that.

AJ goes off the deep end. Phil is a real piece of work. One of his guys harrassed Meadow, Tony goes off, does some dental work, then is going to make amends, but Phil's even more of an asshat. Showdown coming.

                Next show June 3.

Phil called for the hit on Tony, who got word and brought in some cousins from the other side of the pond. But they f**ked up, got the wrong guy. Then Bobby got whacked at the train store (nice touch), and Sil's in intensive care. Phil's nowhere to be found (for a hit), so Tony's laying low.

                  One show to go...

damn I missed this week's episode. hopefully they'll show it again. In fact, I missed most of them, but I caught the suicide one.

I thought I'd post here, since I started the thread, and it says spoilers (which Oerdin's God Damn Cable Company!!!!1!!1 doesn't).

It wasn't the ending I expected: Tony arrested/in jail or maybe shot. It was more of an anti-ending. I thought the picture had gone out, too. They always have music going with the credits. This time it was just "Don't stop - " and abrupt fade to black, then silence when the credits rolled.

Some ends got tied up: Tony made a deal with the NY family, and Phil got whacked (and if the shot to the head and chest weren't enough, the woman who driving got out in a panic and left the SUV in drive, so it drove - over Phil's head); AJ considered joining the Army, *****ed about the state of the world, accidentally burned up his SUV in a pile of leaves, but ended up in a Beamer (and with a high school model girlfriend - "Look at the stems on blondie!" Paulie said in a previous episode).

How 'bout Paulie getting spooked by that cat! (It was kinda weird, the fixation it had on Chrissy's picture.) And he was going to turn down the additional responsibility Tony was offering, because of the bad things which happened to previous capos, until Tony said he'd offer it to Patsie (what else was he gonna do? no one else was left, with Carlo going to the Feds).

I was a bit disappointed it ended that way, but on the other hand, it certainly was different. Life goes on. Tony eats with his family, while a potential indictment hangs over his head, Sil's comatose, Uncle June has alzheimers, Janice doing her oh-woe-is-me, the widow thing, and any solitary guy could be a potential hit man.

But who knows, as there wasn't total closure, there could be a movie down the road.

yeah I'm okay with it. Actually got the chance to watch. Still not on par with the early writing, but it's an alright episode. I'm not as upset as most of the fans are.

question: how did Chris die? I missed that whole line of episodes.

Chrissy was driving Tony back from a meeting. He kept messing with the radio (so I was expecting something to happen). There was a rollover accident, Chrissy got messed up, was choking on blood. Tony, perceivng him as a risk due to his noninvolvement in the business (he was avoiding them because he's an addict, and everybody's always drinking, plus the film stuff was taking up his time, too), decided to take advantage of the moment and pinched his nostrils shut.

I was not happy with the ending.

They created more loose ends than they tied up.

It has movie(s) written all over it, which is OK, but it sucked as a series ender. It left the audience feeling robbed. Perhaps appropriate. Harr harr.

I wasn't happy either. The only thing they tied up was NY. This whole season was pretty weak.

I thought it was a great finale episode. The ambiguity at the end was brilliant. On one hand, you can think that Tony and his family go back to the way it was and family continues. Though Tony is always looking over his shoulder at every possibly threat (and that's just what all the shady guys in the diner were). But a VERY popular theory is that the final seconds "to black" was Tony getting shot. The series is told through Tony's eyes and after he's been popped, it just ends... no music, no visuals... nothing. Because he got killed in the blink of an eye, in the middle of dinner.

As for not tying up loose ends. Chase has ALWAYS been on record saying that in real life every loose end isn't conveniently closed. He leaves things dangling all the time, saying that's what happens in real life.
