Re: Vista sales numbers a big lie?
Err....how desperate are people to try to make this a big deal?
I don't see the point of this thread aside from the growing delusions of anti-MS fanboys who think Vista isn't going to make MS a pile of money and become the dominant OS...
MS reported the number of Vista copies shipped, as all companies do -- they don't have any details on how many of these retailers actually sell. The only lie here seems to be coming from the usual suspects?"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I'm happy that I am so prominent and your life so pathetic so as to make that the point of your existence at Poly. Perhaps you can join Urban Ranger over at the psych ward when you're through.Originally posted by Jaakko
The point is Asher-baiting. Duh."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

In my job as a university tutor, I have seen Window's appalling new OS in action, it seems to be rather hated so far.Originally posted by Jaakko
I've come to love Mac, and will go with an iBook Pro instead of some Vista POS next time I upgrade!
I hear nothing but complaints from the users, and this is from people who had been happily animating and developing
code on Win-XP. Methinks I will be looking for other OS options when it comes to replacing my system.

It's funny that on Apolyton the reaction is otherwise, as has everyone else in real life that I know who has it.
Only person I know who isn't a fan is a coworker, and that's cause his laptop's integrated graphics can't do the fancy stuff.

Well, I guess it really depends on what the individual is using the computer for.
I have witnessed Vista playing merry hell with people who are trying to create flash content.
One thing to note is that XP was also problematic when it appeared, but was patched.
Hopefully Vista will go the same way.
But I won't be computing with it to find out.

Considering that Vista has nothing to do with flash content, I'm going to take a wild guess this is a compatibility issue...Originally posted by curtsibling

Of course that's not true. You can't delete it while you're running it, but this isn't anything new...Originally posted by curtsibling
Not sure of the exact cases, but flash-created files were not saving or playing correctly.
Of course, that might have indeed been a compatibility issue.
But the inability to remove the OS from the HD is a more alarming feature.
I have heard that Vista cannot be deleted, is this true?"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
