LOTM, You've been fingerprinted for your job? wtf do you do? Secret service?

We don't do that in here. We have some privacy issues to consider. I don't think it's even legal to fingerprint someone in here, unless you're arrested first and commited a crime that carries a possible prison sentence.

Its standard for government jobs, for teaching jobs, for some banking jobs, etc. Its a way to trace if you have a criminal record of any kind.

With the machines they use its quick and easy, and just as fast doing all ten fingers as doing two.

I really dont see what the big deal is.

From what I understand, its not always easy to make an identification with fingerprints, and so having the extra info from all ten fingers helps.

The reason to do it is to increase the accuracy of the identification.

Unless you think the occasional misidentification is a "protection" against the evil that is fingerprinting in the first place, your position makes no sense. I tend to think that misidentification is a bad thing, as it leads to hassles for people who should not have been identified as risks.

Perhaps you think screeners should not ask for middle names either? That would also increase the rate of misidentifications, further undermining the whole oppressive no fly program.

then explain the harm done by taking prints from 10 fingers that isnt done by taking prints from two finger.

I don't agree with the first 2 either.

I don't see how 8 more will help.

Maybe some people are making money out of this, selling equipment ro something.. or someone is trying to justify their job, coming up with 'solutions'. How does this exactly help stopping people on the border? Well it doesn't. If it's a serious terrorist attack, you still have to identify the attacker, plus the person most likely has a fake passport anyway, and there's no comparative fingerprints on other databases, so you're linking it to a wrong identity.

Or, you're linking it to a right identity, but... the fingerprinting helped exactly how?

But you'll get a database of whole bunch of people who don't matter. This will stop 0 terrorists, and the minute some official claims it did, he lied.

Look at all the places that have your fingerprints.
Most of you are parolees anyway.

If anyone wants to finger print me, I'll shove my fingers right up their ass.

0 for me and most of people I know.

Fingerprinting is extremely rare in here, and IMO it always includes at least a crime that is of some serious nature.

                        I couldn't tell you how many times I've been fingerprinted. 10? 20? 30 maybe?

                        Whatever.

I think I was finger printed once in Elementary School.
I don't know why and if it was serious, but I think all the kids did and some police was there.
Maybe they were just getting us used to the idea.
                            Havn't been since.

Do fingerprints change enough during growth that fingerprints from a child are useless or not?

                            EDIT:
wiki seems to say that fingerprints are fixed as a foetus and don't change.

Soon they will be implanting tracking devices on all the furriners. But will tracking be all they do.
