So today we will know in Finland .. the votes will be in at 20.00, and after that the counting will begin and should be done before the midnight.
I won't give you an introduction of the parties, because it will be biased, so I figure I'll do you a favour and respect our posters by holding back my own propaganda. The stakes aren't high. The cohesion of our parties, including major parties is boring and personally I feel it is disgusting. They're the same party, all of them.
So these are parliamentary elections .. "According to the Finnish Constitution sovereign power in Finland belongs to the people, represented by Parliament convened in session. The Finnish Parliament is unicameral and comprises 200 representatives."
The first parliamentary elections in Finland were held on 15 and 16 March 1907... so this is almost a celebratory thing. These elections are held once every for years.
OK, the parties are:
Centre Party (Major one)
SDP (Major one)
National Coalition (conservative, major one)
-----------
Ok these three will be battling for the victory today. Two of these will form the new government, so the two who gets most votes will most likely form the new government (well the winning party will take the second major party in, almost customary).. and then few little parties will also be in it, but they don't matter.
Then the little parties are as follows:
Christian Democrats
Greens
Leftist Alliance (Translation?)
Swedish people's party
True Finns
I don't care who wins really, changes nothing, but I'd like to see SDP out of the government. I really just don't like that party and especially I have deep hatred for their leader, so I'd like to see them getting the boot. But it's unlikely, but we'll see.
I'd like to see government: Centre Party, National Coalition, Greens. I don't mind Greens. I think they're OK party. If I REALLY had my way, the government might be something like Liberals, Greens and maybe National Coalition (we always need one major party, and SDP is out so, coin toss). That would be ideal for me, from the list of crap parties, this would suck the least personally.
I also just came back from voting ... it's kind of funny, you really feel like it doesn't matter, yeah, changes nothing, but then you kind of go and you feel good about it afterwards... you feel good that you voted.
