How would you rate Putin? It's difficult, in general he is intelligent and definitely one of the better strategist in the pool of world leaders. So he scores high there, but what about the actual.. what he's gotten done?
OK, my negative points goes for Chechnya, as he turned on the bigger gear in what can be only called a weird war, weird because no one seems to care about it. We don't care about Chechnya. I think we should pay more attention to this matter.
Other negatives goes for killing independent media, as in TV, newspapers.. but it's difficult to tell what he is after. Is it just taking back the control? The oligarks owned everything after the country was sold from pieces, so maybe like 10 people owned most of it, including media.
So what you have there is a .. few business men, controlling stuff, plus politics. So would it be a bad thing to take it back? After all, it was hurting Russia. Putin took it back, he needed to support of oligarks, and then he turned around and screwed them in the anus, which Yeltsin was unable and unwilling to do. But this was most necessary thing, it had to be done, if you want to help the country and not few people and give them even more billions.
So what's your take on it, it's 50/50.. A little bit back to the old rhetoric world, however, he demolished the ruling of few people who only cared about raping the nation, so.. it'¨s really a double edged sword.
