  • European Union's 50th anniversary

    ...is this month.

Uhm, don't really have anything to say about it, other then that I though it'd be nice to have a topic about it.

Anyhow, I just discovered the EU has an anthem and it's Beethoven's Ode to Joy. Surely that beats Mauretania's anthem.

[edit]Just discovered a banana anthem as well! Wikkid!

Oh the EU anthem is nice, but it just can't match the former DDR's anthem.

edit: Because no thread is complete without links to music videos of former communist countries' anthems

Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.

We didn't join until 1973, so make another thread in 16 years' time and I'll have one of my nieces post a message on my behalf.

The way things are going, the Cairo Covenant will probably have replaced the Treaty of Rome by then.

So? I'm only saying I had just discovered that fact.

Spiff, that is an evil wish for the future of EU

Perhaps that's the best thing about it. The US works pretty well.
