Since this thread is now simply about Copenhagen could some of the Danes mention some of the most notable tourist attractions. I am thinking 3-4 weeks to do Europe. I probably would not get to Northern or or Eastern Europe but would try to get in some of England, FRance, Spain, Portugal, Italy, germany and Denmark. I realize you could spend 3-4 weeks (or 3-4 months for that matter) on any one of those countries.
Time of year ? I'd probably try latesummer, early fall with the idea of canvassing the northern areas first and working my way south. Probably England first and ending in Italy or Spain. I don't want a winter visit and best would be something that is not the height of tourist season. Moderately pleasant weather would suffice
Travel method would be trains, rental cars and perhaps a bicycle tour or two-- maybe even a flight (ie Italy to Spain at the end)

If a relaxed walk studying old military barracks and some handmade housings in an green environment amongst relaxed people ticks, then yes, but if you expect to find "joint paradise made on earth", then no. Art Galleries? If you think they are the most amazing in all of Europe sure this will be a family vacation so two hours in an Art gallery has to be balanced with a few hours of something "fun". But my son thinks riding a train is "fun" and would think a museum was fun if it was a museum of trains or dinosaur bones or whatnot.Originally posted by BlackCat

If it were a 25 day vacation I could see us wanting to spend every third to 4th day on a beach or at a park or anywhere low stress to decompress and get ready for the more active days. I would much rather " see" a little less and enjoy it more. When I volouteered to answer your question, I thought "easy" - rien de problem. Well, the problem is that you could spend a month here and still miss something interesting just a couple of hours away
Another disturbing thing was that when I visit another country/city, I prefer to walk the streets and see how the locals live - maybe I should get a wife and some children
