On second thought, no.

But it is a good ole American Tradition.

And the Registration Act is the right way forward for America.

So was the internment of Japanese Americans. Just because we have a history of giving too much power to the government in times of crisis doesn't justify it or mean that such behavior should be held above the ideals of what America is supposed to be. It also sure as hell doesn't render those ideals "irrelevent."
