An American Hero Falls
Captain America died today, he was 84.
As we all know, in Recent months Captain America fought the so-called registration Act, passed int eh wake of the Samford disaster that took the lives of 600 schoolchildren. He became a rallying point for the anti-registration superhumans, while Tony Stark led the enforcement of the new law.
It was only in the past week that Captain America(Known in his civilian life as Steve Rogers) surrendered to authorities in the midst of a battle in downtown Manhattan. He was shot this afternoon by a sniper outside the federal courthouse in New York City.
So far SHIELD has indicated that there are no leads to the shooter.
Steve Rogers, while not the only one to wear the Captain America mantle, was the first and most long lived. It is unknown if the Federal Government will appoint another to take his place, as previous wearers have either been taken into custody(Jack Flagg) or joined the growing number of American superhuman expatriates in Canada(USAgent).
SHIELD Director Tony Stark was not reachable for comment.
