If a homework problem is worth zero points and I didn't answer it, did I get it wrong?

  • #2

The answer depends on whether or not the teacher even remembers having handed out the assignment in the first place...

No doubt the same problem will be on the final.

What's his score then? Divide the 0 points he earned by the 0 points the assignment was worth and what do you get? Another filosofy assignment: Explore the deeper meaning of "Undefined," ten pages double-spaced, due Tuesday.

No need for ten pages. In math the meaning of undefined can be expressed very simply.

Er no. They have a few zero-point problems at the beginning of each homework as an easy introduction to the methods we'll be using for the rest of it. I don't do them because I already know how to do all of the problems pretty well.

ahh, but he said it was a philosophy assignment. Philosophy isn't like math. It's long winded and pointless.

And Oerdin, it's a non-deferred class. They need to produce something substantive by the end of the semester.

No, but you might have to become a liberal arts major if this continues.
