One of the local throw-away papers already has this story out in hard copy.

The AP story quotes Fitzgerald as saying there will be no more prosecutions. Dammit, I want more blood!

Funny thing is, the jury has stated that while Libby is guilty, he is also the fall guy.

Sorry. No crimes were committed apparently. I'm still curious how the primary source escaped prosecution.

Erm, he was charged with two separate counts of lying to the FBI and was found guilty on one of them.

What you were looking for wasn't found. Maybe we can help you figure out where to go.

Libby was convicted of one count of obstruction, two counts of perjury and one count of lying to the FBI about how he learned Plame's identity and whom he told. Prosecutors said he learned about Plame from Cheney and others, discussed her name with reporters and, fearing prosecution, made up a story to make those discussions seem innocuous.

Libby said he told investigators his honest recollections and blamed any misstatements on a faulty memory. He was acquitted of one count of lying to the FBI about his conversation with Time magazine reporter Matthew Cooper.
The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.

The Weighted Companion Cube is cheating on you, that slut.

That's "fair and balanced" reporting. Everyone else is reporting Scooter is guilty, so Fox News reports he is not guilty in order to balance things out.

That seems harsh for a person that isn't even the source of the leak.
He told Novak and Novak outed her soon after, thats a source and a leak. The possibility someone else (Armitage) was leaking her name doesn't mean Libby wasn't outing her. Apparently Armitage told the FBI the truth or he might have been prosecuted as well. Whether or not Armitage was part of the conspiracy to out her or just a blabbermouth, Libby was indeed part of a conspiracy to get her identity made public and he was convicted of lying about it.

                  Why?

Because Libby and his cohorts LIED us into Iraq and proceeded to smear anyone who tried to pull back the curtain...

Libby's punishment? Drive convoys in Bagdhad until the troops are pulled out of Iraq

Armitage was Novak's source, Berz. Novak said as much when Dick stopped hiding behind him.

Libby confirmed her identity to Novak, thats a leak too. He wrote the article after talking to Libby - these guys tried to make it look like reporters stumbled upon her so they wouldn't be fingered as the leakers. Didn't work, they got caught...

And I will ask again - Why wasn't Novak charged? AFAICT he knowingly released classified information.

Berz - I love your proposed punishment. Sadly Libby will come up smelling like roses and we all know it.

Does that mean Novak gets to spend his days in the NYT, WaPo, LaTi wing of the federal pen?

Is this some sort of obscure reference to forcing journalists to divulge sources?

That is not the Novak situation.
