      It just doesn't make sense. Nvidia hasn't had 7.xx drivers since like 1997...

          The game developers in my office got new development rigs today -- Intel Core Quad Extreme, 2x GeForce 8800GTX's (768MB each), 4GB system RAM.

              I bet you bought a Dell, which means you could have 2x 8800 GTXs as well for the same price.

                  WTF. I uninstalled the old drivers, rebooted, ran setup.exe for the new drivers, rebooted, and Device Manager claims I'm still running version 7.15.11.65.

                        Look at the last 3 numbers. That is the latest. Look at the Driver Date for another clue.
