                It's no longer as commonly used as it once was, back in the 40s-70s.

                Of course, other such slang that fell into disuse include "Nips", "Zipperheads", and the like.

                That said, I still find it inordinately funny.

                            I think the phrase that's going around these days is "Serenity Now". (I realize that's not where it's from, originally, but I think that video's funnier, in a more twisted way.)
