  • Female names which rhyme with Caroline and one hit wonders

I am trying to remember the name of a song from around 1996-1998, I am quite sure the name was a female name which rhymed with Valentine, Caroline etc

The band is totally unknown now, think of a Kula Shaker level of One hit wonderness, they may have been Australian. (Neither SilverChair nor Savage Garden)

    So help me

Back then my english was very very rudimentary, so i dont remember the lyrics, which would help me.
if I find out the chick name, I think I can google it easily.

I thought this thread might have something to do with Neil Diamond, as unlikely as that might seem.

Sorry I can be of no help.

Wow, I'm blanking on names that rhyme with Caroline. And now I can't get "Sweet Caroline" out of my head.

        Sweeeeet Caroline, bah-bah-bah!

          Me too.

It was "our song" for one Poly poster and his special someone, way back when Jimmy Carter was President. Mainly cause the special someone liked it.

"Where it began, I can't begin to know when
But then I know it's growing strong
                    Oh, wasn't the spring, whooo
                    And spring became the summer
                    Who'd believe you'd come along

                    Hands, touching hands, reaching out
                    Touching me, touching you
                    Oh, sweet Caroline
Good times never seem so good
I've been inclined to believe it never would

And now I, I look at the night, whooo
And it don't seem so lonely
We fill it up with only two, oh
                    And when I hurt
                    Hurting runs off my shoulder
How can I hurt when holding you

Oh, one, touching one, reaching out
                    Touching me, touching you
                    Oh, sweet Caroline
Good times never seem so good
Oh I've been inclined to believe it never would

Ohhh, sweet Caroline, good times never seem so good"

Heh. I think of it as the Red Sox song, because they play it at Fenway constantly. I'm a Yankees fan.

It's not a bad song. It's just not one I want to hear a lot. My wife's a Red Sox fan...

There actually was a song "Caroline," by Concrete Blonde, off their Bloodletting album, but that was 1990.

                            I AM... I SAID
                            Written by Neil Diamond
L.A.'s fine, the sun shines most the time
And the feeling is 'lay back'
Palm trees grow, and rents are low
But you know I keep thinkin' about
                            Making my way back

Well I'm New York City born and raised
But nowadays, I'm lost between two shores
L.A.'s fine, but it ain't home
New York's home, but it ain't mine no more

                            "I am," I said
                            To no one there
An no one heard at all
                            Not even the chair
                            "I am," I cried
                            "I am," said I
And I am lost, and I can't even say why
                            Leavin' me lonely still

Did you ever read about a frog who dreamed of bein' a king
                            And then became one
Well except for the names and a few other changes
I you talk about me, the story's the same one

But I got an emptiness deep inside
And I've tried, but it won't let me go
And I'm not a man who likes to swear
But I never cared for the sound of being alone

                            "I am," I said
                            To no one there
An no one heard at all
                            Not even the chair
                            "I am," I cried
                            "I am," said I
And I am lost, and I can't even say why
                            Leavin' me lonely still
