I don't believe that there is necessarily a perfectly-definable quantity of "innate intelligence"; intelligence is a conflation of a number of different types of abilities. Nor do I believe that even if there were such an ideal quantity that psychiatrists would have discovered how to test for it perfectly. Nevertheless, I'm willing to accept that such tests reveal something about the subject's mental abilities.

I'm not sure that something would translate into the impression you're getting based on online posting, though, with the exception of language skills (which are one of the areas of those tests that is most biased.)

I'd consider that more a failure of the tests than of your judgment, though.

I am not simply basing this on general posting ability. If I were, Laz would be at the top of the list and I would be several spots lower down.

Posting ability has something to do with it (handicapped for foreign language speakers). People also reveal things about themselves in the mistakes that they make when posting. Some mistakes are carelessness, while others imply shallow or illogical thinking.
