  • How does one encourage oneself to dream?

I like dreams when I have them because they always take me far out and sometimes they turn strangely prophetic. They're also incredibly detailed; I can write pages and pages on them and my friends all agree that, although all dreams of other people are awful to have to listen to, mine are the most tolerable.

I'm not really interested in interpreting them for any deeper meaning (if you go to sleep before Thanksgiving Friday and dream 31-26, 31-26, 31-26 and Casey Dick throwing helpless duds on the last drive, how much deeper can it get) nor am I interested in lucid dreaming, which somehow feels like it would be against the point.

When I do dream I seem to have them in bursts of activity for a couple weeks followed by a months-long drought, and I'm trying to break the drought.

What do y'all know to do that will aid in producing a dream?

I used to wrote all my dreams; from 20y old to 24 y old. I also found that their was a cycle, in dreams activity; where dreams are more intense for some days or weeks, and for some month, you seems to have stop dreaming. (probably you just don't remember, your dreams).

How can you help producing dreams? I think that's a wrong question; the best question would be, how can I remember the dreams that I have dreamed this evening?

Keeping a log of all your dreams can help; as soon as you awake, you can try to remember what you have dreamed. But I don't know any special tricks.

You can try drinking a couple of glasses of water before you go to bed. Then you'll wake up around six hours later, and you'll probably come straight out of a dream

Have a cold-pork-with-mustard sandwich before going to bed.

Try the patch. I used it to try to stop smoking and left it on at night to avoid the first craving in the morning.
One side affect was extremely vivid dreams. I have talked to others that tried the patch and almost all of them experienced the same type of dreams.

As long as your sleep is uninterrupted, you are getting your dream time. The trick is in porting those dreams to conscious memory.

Plenty of masturbation before going to sleep?

This I don't understand. Are you sure you don't see dreams, or is it just that you don't remember them?

I see dreams every night, and remember them the next morning, not all of it, but many things. Been like that all my life, my cousin also.

Get a fever. Im always get very vivid, surreal dreams when I've got a fever. And I tend to remember them too.
