I just thought the thread was attention seeking from some newb-- sort of like those Will9 threads

Maybe we should take to do the newb dance every time MOBIUS posts?
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

If I had seen that thread, you would have had my vote - no way, that I'll vote for kicking one of the more entertaining sidekicks of this place out.

Oh, and don't worry about a DL made of you wouldn't be recognizied as a such. There is no way to hide the distinct smell of Mobby No 5
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I've just bought a cup final ticket for Arsenal v Chelsea at Cardiff on Sunday, after my name came up in a ballot for recent high attendance. Is there a town outside of Cardiff that it's possible to park in and get a train from?
You're going to that as well...?

Pity I haven't gotten round to fixing the garage in my new flat yet, cos I would have said park it in there but the door is currently 'manual' and I haven't even checked if it rolls up without any dramas yet cos I'm a lazy ****er. Otherwise I do have a spare visitor's permit going for a street just 5 mins from the stadium - but I'm guessing those will be illegally parked on really early anyway... Caerphilly is a good idea actually, not that I have ever had to try it!

Or, any other good advice you can offer? I've heard that waiting a couple of hours after the match before attempting to drive anywhere is a good idea.
That's what the pubs are for!

I was also wondering whether any A/B road routes other than the motorway might be less tedious than heavy motorway traffic on the way out, which I hate.
Depends where you end up. from Caerphilly you would take the A468 to J28 of the M4 and cross over onto the A48 bypassing to the S. of Newport which is new and mostly dual carriageway. Follow that to Chepstow and join the M48 at J2 across the Severn Estuary then M4...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

Are you going, then? If so, how did you get your ticket? I gather Chelsea are having trouble selling their allocation. Small timers.

Thanks - I'll be going via Caerphilly "park 'n ride", and leaving N.London at 7.00am. That should avoid some of the worst traffic. Good luck with your garage door, when you eventually explore it.

I work there as a steward, so essentially get paid to watch the matches... It is a carry over from when I first came to Cardiff which coincided with West Ham getting relegated. I signed up just in case they got to the Play-off finals, and they did! In fact, including the FA Cup Final last year, I've managed to see them 3 years running here!

Still not sure if I can be bothered going this Sunday as football fans are ****ers from a steward's POV, and it is only Arsenal Vs Chelsea after all...

Where is your ticket for? I'm based around gate 3, which is 'north' so that means I'll be with you Arsenal fans.

At that time you'll be nice and early, I wouldn't anticipate too many problems at all. If you like your castles, you should pop your head round the one at Caerphilly.

I may even look at the garage door this evening as I have to be home by 4:30pm for a double glazing dude...

I'm in block U7 North Upper. I probably won't have a clue who's on the ball from up there, but at least I'll see whether the ball's heading up or down the pitch.

Then again, looking at the picture, the lower tiers look quiet shallow compared to the upper, and I'm only 8 rows back.

Meaning you'll be coming through Gate 3, I'm guessing stair 26 which I think is the Upper stair, otherwise it'll be stair 25. I could come up and give you a visit...

Those are definitely the nose bleed seats, but you'll get a real feel for the size of the place and you are only 8 rows back. Decent side on view though.

Cool, I just checked against an old pic of mine when I went as a paying customer...

The red line shows approx where you are likely to be sitting.

Yay! You've got to admit though, football fans have a pretty well-earned reputation though

Ah yes, Cardiff, the home of English football
