                      Yeah Happy New Year. Why not.

                      It would be interesting if 'New Years' were spread out about a bit through the year to give us all a cause for celebration. Like the South Pacific New Year, in April or the Indian Ocean New Year, September.

                        It's not obscure. It's celebrated throughout Asia. Restricting it to only the Chinese obviates all the other cultures who celebrate it. I mean, we don't celebrate Chinese firedrills.
