Why? You guys are the richest nation in the world... to me it would seem even more logical to cut the funding of some weird pseudoscience military projects that aren't going anywhere. Those babies cost very much, plus the only deal with them is to stimulate few science people and their buddies, plus make them rich doing 'nothing' that is productive.
I often hear this claim, that the military spends more money than the rest of the world combined and then million times over.
HMMMmm I wonder where there would be some money that could be freed? It's like have 10000 nukes. Why would anyone need the capability to destroy the world 9 times over. Isn't once enough? Or just to be sure, twice?
Surely Iraq is costing a lot, but even without it, the spendings on military would be still record high. It's all about priorities, so, I'd say people first, since there's no conventional war to be seen in the near future. That, or corporate welfare. Veterans have earned their compensation. They have already earned it. You can't take it back retroactively. I mean you can, but that's just wrong. On the other hand, we know the social benefits, when they're cut, they hurt the poor most. Rich people don't give a ****, since they can afford treatments. So that's not their problem.
And I'm nto saying the rich should pay for the care of the poor. I'm saying there's bound to be a lot of money that can be freed, that is just not used very well right now. There's always that kind of money somewhere. What you need to do, you need to line up these government money spending mofos, they will all say, well, we need this money or the world will end. This is to be expected. Now, put a 'slight pressure' to find out what money can be cut, what is not so important. Waterboarding put to good use
.. it is immoral to spend government money and be careless about it, and there's bound to be thousands of programs where they just aren't managing the budgets. Fire these ****ers, cut the fundings, and put a real champion managing the programs, if they are of any use to begin with.
Put really good people to take care of them programs, not relatives, not friends of the party, but qualified people. If there aren't any around, call to India or something, ship some qualified people over. Problem solved. No one lost anything, everyone gained a bit more.
