Those Indian Call Centers must be rough.
Especially when they say "My name is Bob"(with a distinctly Indian accent) and indicate that they are located in "The middle-west".

So you get to play CoH or DOW all day, right?
It turns out that in the "real" world they expect some kind of product or service when you go to work, so you can't just hang around and stare at the wall all day and expect to not get fired.

Just tell them you are running some tactical simulations.

I'm on an orange/blue line train from L'Enfant Plaza to Metro Center. I have never been on a train that was literally full before. People on the outside yelling, "Come on, move to the center!" and people on the inside yelling back, "Hey, we've got the entire Federal Government in here. Get on the next train!"

Now I am sad that you don't follow my whereabouts, even Che knew I was out of the navy and working as a contractor at a Large Federal Building That Shall Not Be Named.

The train would not leave the Pentagon stop (even with the doors closed), and the driver kept coming over the intercom "don't lean on the doors! Car one, don't lean on th doors! We aren't going anywhere until you stop leaning on the doors!"

Well, this very....robust woman was leaning on the doors, smiling like it wasn't her damn fault while the rest of us are pissed because people like her are making this take longer than it has to. Finally this Army Colonels screams "HE'S TALKING ABOUT YOU!!!!!!!" and she jumps off the doors, we start moving...then she went on a rant about "how rude you are", which ended badly when other people yelled at her to shut up.

There are always people at G2 and NMCC we need to support, even if everyone else is gone. And since both those agencies higher-lever clearances, who are they gonna make hang back, the technician with nothing in the way of clearances ("Hurr hurr I set up outlook!") or the one with the requisite clearances?

I'm a non-essential government worker and I like it that way . As long as they keep paying me, of course .

DC is wimpy. It isn't all that bad outside, just a bit of ice. "oh no, it is a bit slippery out, lets shut down the government". Puh-lease.

It is funny too, all the other groups in the city take off whenever the federal government does. Most of the people left my office at 2. But I'm the boss and make my own hours and decided to stay till 5. (I only came for like 2 hours on Monday, so I didn't want to ditch again).

Anyway, I didn't know that Lord Shiva and Lonestar were both in DC. We need another DC polymeet!

Us private sector government sponges got off at 2:00 also. It looked like Moses was leading the exodus down on K Street.

                                *Glances out the window*

Time on deck is 0435...right now now the Feds have an 2 hour delay, but everyone else is closed. If they think I'm going to try to drive to work they are out of their mind. I think I'm gonna call in an unscheduled leave.
