I didn't mention anything about casualties - this is about the financial cost of the war!

I called you a ****** because I am calling a spade a spade with your retarded bringing up of a subject that has nothing to do with this thread.

As for it being an insult - I apologise to all retards for comparing them to you, as it appears I have insulted them greatly!

So you agree one percent is an insignificant cut OR you don't have a meaningful rebuttal to defend you absurdly exaggerated OMFG HE IS CUTTING MEDICARE comment. Doesn't really matter which one
I agree that given 1% is less than the % the average taxpayer is having to pay out of their annual income to fund Bush's illegal war, then yes it is insignificant...

But then the subject of medicare is not the point of this thread - IT IS ABOUT THE FACT THAT BUSH HAS ALREADY ASKED FOR MORE MONEY THAN THE ENTIRE COST OF THE VIETNAM WAR, AND THAT IT IS THE TAXPAYERS WHO ARE THE ONES WHO ULTIMATELY FOOT THE BILL TO THE TUNE OF HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS!!!*

*Emboldened and capitalised for people who are worse than retards (Patroklos!) who don't understand the subject matter of this thread...

I think just a giant mirror for him to pose in front of and an abundant supply of gay porn would suffice in strategically disabling Fez...

Yes, but these are WMDs and would produce a lot of collateral damage, like poor innocent Asher.

              Oh, I agree...

But corp taxes are, today, an interesting margin note rather than a key element of the tax base.

30 years ago that was much less true.

As if MOBIUS gives a flying **** about US taxpayers

Anyway, IF this cluster**** of an intervention had actually worked (resulted in a peaceful, liberalish democratic society - a pipe dream, of course), then I would consider my share of the money well spent. Of course that's not so. Doing it properly (to the extent there is a proper way to do it) would've cost even more.

                And that's just the money.

I'm a liberal, remember? I get warm fuzzies when people talk about liberal democracy.

Furthermore, a successful transformation of Iraq would've been an impressive foreign policy coup. Instead of seeing our international credibility sink to an all-time low, we'd have seen our credibility increase. That's worth a few bucks too.

It still would have been a sinkhole for money and lives to fuel an enterprise that didn't need to happen even if it had worked.

No, they're partly paid by consumers, partly paid by workers and partly paid by stockholders.

That the socioeconomic profiles of those three categories are not necessarily the same.
